Thanks for the pic ! I almost shot the same a year ago, when I was doing an internship in DC (not in the White House !!!). I miss the city and enjoy your blog a lot !
A crowded city, a far blue mountain...
A busy rail yard, a quiet country road...
A president, a janitor...
A milionaire, a pauper...
A skyscraper, a dairy farm...
A sunrise, a sunset
I saw a nation...
In my city..
Along my way...
Today.
I work in the heart of Washington, DC. And, if asked by a visitor where I live, I will likely relply, "DC," as well - even though it takes me two hours by car, train, subway, and by foot to get to work.
To me, and most of her "residents", DC is much larger than the 68.25 square miles in the Federal City. It is Alexandria and Arlington, Silver Spring and Waldorf. It is Fairfax and Loudoun, Prince Georges and Montgomery.
The Dome of the Capital Building and the Obelisk of the Washington Monument seem to cast their shadows from the Blue Ridge to the mouth of the Potomac; and from Frederick to Fredericksburg.
This is where I live. This is where I work. This is what I see. Each day.
Very good action photo. The lady stands still while the train in on the move. It gives me some ideas for photos.

I like the feeling of movement here! Nice shot!
Fantastic! Movement shots are always great and you’ve captured the moment perfectly.
tipsy! i like the result
This is weird; I can’t get either your photos or Marie’s. Do you know why? If so, help!!
It’s a great shot…it just feels like movement.
Nice shot!
I find public transport shots notoriously difficult to shoot. You have succeeded here extremely well.
Nice pic. I can’t ride public trasportation.
